Delicous Autumn!

{Last week my family and I took an afternoon walk on the trails at Chellberg Farm.  I had been longing to get some autumn photos so I was quite delighted that the whole family wanted to come a long.}

Why Autumn is my Favorite Season::
  • Crisp mornings
  • Sipping hot tea all day

  • Leaves fluttering on my windshield
  • Stews and soups
  •  Scarfs and boots
  • Harvest moons

  • Pumpkin rolls & Carrot Cake
  • Crunchy leaves

  • Fall mums
  • The pumpkin patch

  • Cozy sweaters
  • Curling up with a good book

  • Counting my blessings
  • More time with family

  • Fresh apple cider
  • Fall decor

  • Nature walks
  • Caramel apples

October gave a party;
The leaves by hundreds came -
The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples,
And leaves of every name.
The Sunshine spread a carpet,
And everything was grand,
Miss Weather led the dancing,
Professor Wind the band.

HIS timing:

Spring is finally here, everything is green, and the flowers are abloom!
I love spring!
A couple of weeks ago it seemed as though it would never come...
Sometimes, I feel the same way about things in my life.

It is one of my biggest struggles...doubt and impatience.
You would think I would learn, but time after time I find myself impatiently questioning God.

Wanting to take matters in my own hands and solve my own problems.
Instead of letting the Lord make things beautiful in His timing.

Faith is letting go and letting God.
True faith drops its letter in the post office box,
and lets it go.  Distrust holds onto a corner of it,
and wonders that the answer never comes.
-

True faith hands its case over to God, and then He works.
"Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust also in him,
and he shall bring it to pass." (Ps. 37: 5)

Faith is the evidence of things not seen.

When I go for walks, with just my camera,
and God, I am reminded...

that just as God brings Spring in his timing,

so he will work out all my life's loose ends-
in HIS timing.

Puffs of cotton

The sun is shining, the skies are blue, birds are singing, and signs of new life are all around!
I just want to drink in every ray of sunlight and be enveloped by the blue skies
and fluffy clouds...

It is amazing how circumstances, like the weather, have such an effect on people.
Suddenly I feel a renewed energy to be outside, I feel a spring in my step, and
I could almost just burst out in song!  :)
Hello, Spring!

Winter Solstice

We got our first real snow yesterday, and it just made it feel like winter...

I awoke and just knew that there was snow blanketing the ground outside.
Not only could I could feel it,
but my room had a glow that only comes from a fresh snowfall.
I ran to my bedroom window, threw open the blinds,
and there it was.

So white, clean, and glistening...

Winter, I welcome thee with outstretched arms!

A new season

I absolutely love the season that has snuck up on us. Perhaps, it is because fall contains my favorite holiday, or maybe because I love my comfort foods such as soups and pies, or because I LOVE watching the foliage change. Autumn...mmm...thinking about all that it brings makes me feel ever so happy!!!

My mom and I recently "dug" up the autumn decor and were excited to bring a little of this season into the house...

One can never have enough pumpkins!!

...or candles

Absolutely love this jar which I picked up candy selling with Mrs E...
contains small turkey papers inside to write your blessings on

a candy corn pot, crafted by me at age 12...

My favorite fall touches of all are found on the
entertainment center...

And of course, the fall mums which grace
our front stoop

Delicious autumn! My soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird
I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.

A Glimpse of Autumn

It's just around the corner...

I can feel it in the cool crisp evenings,

I can taste it while sipping hot tea,

I can hear it in the crickets' song,

I can smell it in the fog of the sunrise,

I can see it in the color alteration of the leaves...

Welcome autumn!
