Miracles

"Something that only God can do..."

That is the definition for the word miracle as taught by my Sunday School teacher when I was a little girl. Miracles are not a rarity in life. Miracles are happening all around us everyday we need only to open our eyes to see them.

Life sometimes, like the weather, comes with storms - thunder crashing and lightening cracking. Some see the thunder storms as terrible scary occurrences in the weather, and wish there would never be such outbreaks on their sunny days. However, others welcome the spring storms knowing that it is only by them that summer will come into full bloom.

I do not welcome the storms that come into my life, but I know that without adversities the victories would not be half as sweet. So, amidst my busy life and ever moving schedule I chose to unwrap my Tuesday by closing my eyes, taking a deep breath, pushing those storms out of the forefront of mind...choosing instead to remember that miracles are all around me.
Look around during your storm...you never know what you may see.

"There are only two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is a miracle. "
Albert Einstein

He is Risen!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend! We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day for Resurrection Sunday. My sisters and I enjoyed dyeing some eggs, which I think I always will enjoy no matter how old I get! We had a great Easter program in church and a superb dinner with friends.

I was very glad that I had taken my camera along with me to church. When the evening service was dismissed, I noticed how amazing the sky looked. It was if an artist had painted strokes with a fine brush. It literally gave me goosebumps and I couldn't help but wonder if that's how it looked the morning Jesus came forth from the grave!

Happy Resurrection Sunday to all!

{This is my personal favorite...so us!}

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
I Peter 1: 3-5

Where O Where Have I Been?

Sorry for the lack of posts; it has been a busy week!
Rather than try to tell what has occupied my time,
here is the last few days in pictures:

#1 Family nights...spending time
with my fun-loving and sometimes
crazy family is something I never tire
of.

Here we are in New Buffalo, MI
at a favorite burger joint!

Enjoying the sights of the town...

Lauren entertains me enough with all
her facial expressions!

#2 My best friend came all the way
from South Carolina to spend the week
with me...Well, kinda...she was on spring
break visiting her family too.

One day we picked up another friend, Liz,
then went out for some girl time!

Included shopping... of course!

#3 Helped Brooke put up her bulletin
board, which I think turned out
adorable!

#4 And another party at work...
Egg dyeing and easter hunt!

Reality Check

Two of the greatest blessings in my life...
Brooke & Lauren - my sisters

I recently heard a pastor speaking about going through hard times. He and his wife recently received a call at 3 a.m. from their 8 year old granddaughter telling them that the ambulance was taking daddy (their son) away to the hospital. He told how they hopped in the car immediately, all the while praying aloud. Their diabetic son and father of 3 had gone into a coma and was in a critical state.

The son finally pulled through and by the Lord's mercy he is still alive. The pastor told how that phone call made him pause in the midst of the business of his life...
pausing...
for a reality check.

The day after all this happened the pastor's car quit working, the landlines were down, his grandson dropped the cellphone in the toilet, and he burnt his hand while trying to fix the car.

On any other occasion, he would have gotten frustrated, perhaps even angry...lashed out at someone, or questioned God. But, that day, was different...

Why? Because he had a reality check the evening before.

What is life all about?

Others.

So...I sat there and thought and I am still pondering that thought, and that is why I chose to write on this topic for Unwrapping my Tuesday. Next time the little things that may cause frustrations and headache come into my life I want to take a deep breath, trust God, and have
a reality check in my life. What is really important to you?

MO Trip Part II (Sights+Happenings)

More pics from my trip...

Delicious!!

Trying to roast my marshmallows without
getting smoked out...

Ooey, gooey, yummy!

The next few pictures are from Meramec Caverns.
I felt as if I was living in a Science book,
when I walked through them. I got to see many
of the things I had only seen pictures of in
elementary school...

The formation below is called a fountain.
Our tour guide did a light show to music on
them...

Stalactites & Stalagmites

Goofing around in the gift shop!

Unless you are a Jane Austen fan you wouldn't have
enjoyed this play of Pride and Prejudice. EJ and I
completely LOVED this production that was in
a small theater not far from where she lives.

Lizzy Bennet did a superb job of acting.

At Lady Katherine's house

Lizzy, Mr. Bingley, & Mr. Darcy

I had a great visit with EJ and was sad to leave, however
I am so grateful that I was able to spend the week with her!
